OUR JOURNEY HOME FROM MT COOLUM

We had a lovely drive home today from Mt Coolum.   There has been quite a bit of rain over the past few days, so the countryside was looking very lush and green.   In fact, when we arrived home and checked the rain gauge there was 42 mls in it.  Woo! hoo!

Not long after we began our journey home, we hit a major traffic jam.  As we crawled along, there was a sign which said there was an accident ahead.  While we were stopped at one spot, I jumped out of the car, ran around to the back and pulled out my basket with my sewing in it.  Then I ran back and jumped quickly in the car and while we were moving very slowly or standing completely still, I managed to get quite a bit of sewing done.

On our way home, we stopped at a couple of places.

First stop was Peachester for a quick leg stretch and a wee walk for Molly.

There were zillions of Harley Davidson motorbikes parked and we could see quite a number of leather-clad bikies having their morning tea at the cafe.

Here's a photograph of the store next door to where they were all sitting.  Not very exciting but there's something so Australian about it.

Our next stop was at Yowie Park in Kilkoy - where the lake is.  I took Molly for a walk near the lake while Papa bought some coffee at the wee van.

Next stop was at Esk where we had the picnic lunch that Papa had packed at Auntie Emma's.  Do you remember Esk?  It is where the park with the flying fox is.

And the final stop was Kenneth Street where we unpacked everything, made a cuppa and talked about our lovely holiday at the beach with Auntie Emma and Fergus.  It was great to see Uncle Michael, Hamish and Angus when they arrived last night too.

Love Nanxxxx
